Since our incorporation in 2008 S. Hughes Joinery and Building Ltd in Preston, Lancashire have undertaken a varied scope of Domestic & Commercial Projects, including Reactive & Planned Maintenance. We specialise in Domestic Extensions, Kitchens, Roof-line, UPVC Windows & Doors. We are well placed in Preston to serve Lancashire and it’s surrounding areas.
All our staff are time served and qualified with City and Guilds NVQ qualifications guaranteeing that our work is carried out to the highest standards and we also carry Full Public/ Employers Liability Insurance.
In addition to this we also have Chas Accreditation & Constructionline Membership and for added peace of Mind, we have been on the Lancashire County Council`s SAFE TRADER Scheme since 2012.

Roof Restoration and gutter and Facia Replacement.
Over the years moss, bird droppings and dirt can damage roofs by penetrating and lifting the tiles. Not only does this make your roof look unsightly but it can cause water ingress through the roof and also block gutters and allow them to overflow damaging brick work.
Stephen Hughes Joinery and Building Ltd can clean and restore your roof and gutters professionally replacing any damaged or cracked tiles, ensuring membranes and roofing felt is in good condition, leaving the roof moss and dirt free and ready for the coming years.

Nursery Roof Project.
The Roof on this Nursery, was covered with EPDM Rubber that was not fully Bonded to the Timber Substrate & was identified by local Authority Building Control as an issue that needed addressing. The Roof coverings & Deck was replaced with New Plywood & Re covered with a Glass reinforced Matting, embedded on 2 Coats of solvent Free Polyurethane liquids.
The Roof also benefitted from a compliant Watercheck GRP Kerb detail & Drip edge. Manufacturers completion site visit & report has issued a 20 year Products warranty.
Full Roof Replacement.
The existing roof coverings, including all Roof Tiles, Bitumen Felt, and Timber Battens, were fully removed. The roof was then replaced with new materials, including a breathable roofing felt, structural graded timber battens, a felt support eaves tray, a new lead valley, and a dry-fit ridge kit.

Cladding Project.
The Upvc Cladding & Render was Not in the approved planning plans when the Building was built. We had to remove all the cladding, extend all the services. This enabled the building to be counter Battened with a Breathable Membrane. To complete the External finish as per the approved Plans, the walls were clad with vertically boarded shiplap treated boards.
